Gotta Question?
Take a look below at our frequently asked questions.

Does BWC For Horse Lovers accept insurance as payment for services rendered?
We are not contracted with any insurance company. Cate Cummings APRN, FNP, IFMCP, ReCODE 2.0 CP, ABHRT is a non-participating, out-of-network health care provider. For any service that is rendered to you by Cate you must pay for the service either at the time of the virtual visit, or in advance for any lab tests she orders for you.
We do not participate with Medicare, nor do we bill Medicare for any services rendered. A patient can NOT submit superbills to Medicare for possible reimbursement. Thank you for your understanding.
Do you offer payment plans?
The only payment plan option that we have available at BWC For Horse Lovers is for you to pay for the Ride On Membership on a monthly basis over the 12 months of your membership versus paying for the Ride On Membership in a lump sum when first joining the membership. Paying for the Ride On Membership in full when you sign up to become a Member entitles you to a 10% discount off of the membership price.
Why don’t you accept insurance?
Unfortunately, when health care providers participate with insurance carriers, they enter into a contract that allows the insurance companies to dictate what services will be supplied, limiting the quality of care that we believe you deserve. As the costs of keeping a clinic running have continued to rise while reimbursement from insurance companies has fallen, this has forced many providers to see more and more patients a day, keeping office visits very brief. We believe this approach of seeing patients for shortened visit times does not allow us to create the personalized plan of care that is necessary in a functional or integrative approach.
What about laboratory work that may be recommended at BWC For Horse Lovers?
Cate Cummings APRN, FNP, IFMCP, ReCODE 2.0 CP, ABHRT does not participate with any insurance companies or Medicare. She is, therefore, an out-of-network, non-participating health care provider.
Cate always has the goal that her patients can get your laboratory testing done efficiently and for the least cost possible. She will work with you to make sure this is accomplished.
You are encouraged to check with your insurance company regarding deductibles and reimbursement for out-of-network labs. It is not the responsibility of BWC For Horse Lovers, a DBA of Bluebonnet Wellness Center, PLLC, to understand your individual insurance coverage. If requested, Cate can make a Superbill, which is a receipt of your lab test details that you may then submit to your insurance company to see if they may reimburse you for any of the cost, however, BWC For Horse Lovers cannot guarantee what reimbursement, if any, you may receive. We do not submit claims or call insurance companies directly. This is the responsibility of the patient.
We do not participate with Medicare, nor do we bill Medicare for any services rendered. A patient can NOT submit superbills to Medicare for possible reimbursement. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected]. Thank you!
Who is a typical patient at BWC For Horse Lovers?
Any person (horse lover or not) who wants to take control of their own health! Patients vary in complexity and health goals. We help people with complex chronic disease such as autoimmune disease, cognitive decline, diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, heart disease, arthritis, ulcerative colitis, thyroid disease, depression and anxiety (to name a few), to approach their disease with the goal of healing from the inside out. Many patients are able to tailor back their medications in these instances. We collaborate with the patient’s primary care physician and specialists before discontinuing medications.
We also assist patients who are otherwise healthy, but just “don’t feel right”. These patients may have seen multiple doctors, and their labs are all normal, however they are still plagued with fatigue, insomnia, mood disorders, brain fog, etc. We use our advanced diagnostic testing to get to the underlying cause of these issues.
What do treatments entail?
Our treatment focuses on personalized lifestyle intervention, emphasizing improving nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress reduction, detoxification if needed, and optimization of relationships. Herbals and nutraceuticals/supplements may be prescribed to help support your body, based on personalized needs. Prescription medication may be prescribed as well, depending on disease and symptom severity. We are always focused on finding the root causes of health challenges so that therapy can then be directed toward correcting the fundamental reasons why a person may be suffering. In this way, true healing is possible. This truly holistic approach incorporates the best of integrative, personalized medicine. Our work is overall directed by the patient’s goals and preferences within the context of safety and efficacy for the health concerns being addressed. A trusting relationship between the patient and Cate is paramount and promotes health and healing. Time is spent cultivating this relationship to build mutual trust and respect. We are here to help you optimize your health so that you can enjoy life more fully!
