Why People Choose BWC For Horse Lovers
Hello, my name is Catherine (Cate) Cummings. Thank you for taking the time to learn about my human health practice, BWC For Horse Lovers (a DBA of Bluebonnet Wellness Center, PLLC).
As you can tell, I love horses (those are my two horse family members in the photo above). They bring smiles to my face. :) But, as much as I love horses, I equally love helping people feel their best so they can enjoy whatever makes them happy. :)
At BWC For Horse Lovers, I practice telemedicine as a Family Nurse Practitioner licensed in the states of Idaho, Utah, Montana, Colorado, and Texas.
I am an Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner, a ReCODE 2.0 Certified Practitioner, and an Advanced Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy Certified Practitioner. I am also a Chiropractor (Idaho) and Licensed Acupuncturist (Idaho).
I am very happy to help provide compassionate and excellent telehealth functional medicine services to residents of Idaho, Utah, Montana, Colorado, and Texas.

Let's Stay Healthy and Active!
At BWC For Horse Lovers, Cate understands what it means to want to keep doing what you love to do with your horses. Cate knows that one of the best ways to keep your horse goals and dreams moving forward into reality is to have the healthiest body, mind, and spirit possible.
And, we know that functional medicine is often one of the best choices for unravelling a health challenge, and for optimizing a person’s long-term health.
An introduction to Functional Medicine and how Cate can help you.
Functional medicine is a very personalized stepwise approach toward health optimization. It honors the uniqueness of every person and puts great emphasis on the distinctive nature of that person’s life. It uses evidence-based medicine to uncover the underlying reasons for why a person may be experiencing a health challenge. Together, the person who is seeking help for their health concerns and the provider enter into a therapeutic partnership where they work as a team to help the person reach their own health-optimization goals.
Functional medicine is one of the most important types of medicine a person can utilize (for non-acute situations) because it strives to understand and uncover the true nature of a person’s health challenge. It empowers the person because it educates them to a fuller understanding of what is going on with their health and gives them a clear pathway for awakening their own natural healing processes.
Cate is also devoted to helping people who are experiencing cognitive decline. She is a trained ReCODE Certified 2.0 Practitioner. Her most wonderful mother sadly died of Alzheimer's Disease when largely there was little knowledge to help this condition, so she knows what this is like to personally witness. But, now through the tremendous work of Dr. Dale Bredesen, we have a much greater understanding of how to prevent and reverse cognitive decline. So, Cate would like to bring hope and empowerment to anyone who is struggling with this challenge, or who would like to prevent cognitive decline.
In addition, Cate has become certified in Advanced Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy through the Institute for Preventive and Innovative Medicine. Ensuring that our hormone levels are optimized as we age is one of the key pillars to healthy aging. She has personally experienced the value of bioidentical hormone optimization and loves to help other people have this benefit as well.
Functional medicine genomics can help a person understand their genomic inheritance which influences their daily function. Cate has been trained as an IntellxxDNA Genomics provider and offers this to her patients as a way to learn more about their inherited uniqueness on a functional level, and how to support their body through diet, nutrition, and lifestyle.
Cate is actively studying with the International Society of Environmentally Acquired Illness (ISEAI). In today's world it is challenging to live healthfully due to the fact that we are often exposed to a myriad of environmental toxins. But, by understanding how we can improve our environment to lessen such exposures, and by supporting our body to become more resilient to toxins, we can still thrive in our modern world. Cate gives clients knowledge and hope to help them feel their best despite life's challenges.
BWC For Horse Lovers helps people in a stepwise manner. First, you may choose to have a Discovery Phone Call after which you may opt for a Foundational Assessment (the Warm-Up Visit). After completing the Warm-Up Visit, you then have the option to join our Membership program (for cost savings), or you can opt not to join the membership and just pay at the time of each individual visit. Cate is happy to work with you either way.
